Hello Beautiful Person! Welcome back to Healing your grief two minutes at a time. This week, I want to talk to you about the importance, importance, importance of self-care. I’m not talking about exercise, you know when you are grieving they say go on a walk with a friend or go exercise. For many people, myself included, that was the farthest thing from my mind and the last thing I wanted to do was to go exercise and go push myself farther than I could because it felt like every day was a push, really.
This type of self care, I am talking about paid professionals taking care of you. That’s right, and with the fourth of July weekend upon us you will actually have an extra day to make that happen this weekend. I am talking acupuncture, of course. I’m a big fan of the acupuncture, but massage, or a manicure, pedicure or meeting with a life coach or a therapist- someone that will help raise your energy and who will help give you back some energy so you can feel supported. Grief just takes a lot out of us and we’re exhausted and that is totally normal. So give yourself the gift of self-care and surround yourself with the people who know how to do that best.
If money is an issue, there are smaller massage places, there are Thai massage places that are relatively inexpensive that are really great. Just check your Yelp listing and find a highly starred one. Or massage schools or trade with another grieving buddy. There are lots of ways to get that energy moving and to feel that love given to you. It is amazing what human contact and support can do for our grieving hearts. Three day weekend. Get on your self-care. I can not wait to hear down in the comments below what kind of self-care you took advantage of this weekend. Subscribe to my channel and have a wonderful week. Take care.
